1. EcoFlow
The maturity of lithium battery technology has driven the development of outdoor power stations, giving rise to several globally recognized Chinese outdoor power brands, with EcoFlow being a prime example. In 2021, EcoFlow became a leading brand in the global outdoor power market. Its products have repeatedly been featured by international media such as The New York Times and Forbes, and it dominates the Chinese outdoor power station market.
Charging efficiency and load inversion capability are the two core metrics for evaluating outdoor power stations. EcoFlow founder Lei Wang, who previously worked at DJI, established DJI’s battery R&D department. Under his leadership, the X-Stream charging technology was developed, which increases battery charging speed by over four times. For instance, a 500Wh battery typically takes 6–7 hours to fully charge in most brands, but EcoFlow can charge it in about 1.5 hours. On load capacity, X-Boost intelligent inverter technology allows devices to draw up to three times the rated power—so a 600W power station can drive devices requiring up to 1,500W.
EcoFlow’s products are mainly divided into two series. The Delta series (also called the De Series) features high-capacity, high-power flagship units, using either ternary lithium or lithium iron phosphate batteries. Models are distinguished by battery capacity, starting at around $1,000–$1,100. Models under 2,000Wh include the Delta 2 and Delta 2000. Over 2,000Wh, the Delta 2 Max has a capacity of 2,048Wh—double that of the Delta 2—and the top-of-the-line Delta Pro reaches 3,600Wh.
Among these, the Delta 2 is the most well-rounded, with a rated power of 1,800W, and, combined with intelligent inverter technology, delivers up to 2,400W. It can power cooking appliances, air conditioners, and even electric vehicles. Its 13 output ports include 220VAC, USB-A, Type-C, and a car charger, with fast-charging 18W USB and 100W Type-C ports for digital devices. However, the series weighs over 12kg, and the price is relatively high, making it suitable for outdoor camping or home emergency use.
The 3,600Wh Delta Pro is EcoFlow’s most hardcore model. With X-Boost, it can output up to 4,500W, easily powering all household appliances. It supports EV charging in 1.7 hours and introduces MultiCharge hybrid charging technology, allowing even expanded 6,500Wh setups to charge fully in 2 hours. Price exceeds $3,600–$3,800.
The River series focuses on portability, featuring 288Wh–720Wh capacity and 600W power. Weighing about 7kg—half that of the Delta series—it offers 9 output ports including 220V AC, 100W Type-C, USB-A, and car charging. A top handle makes it easy to carry for short trips.
Charging can be done via wall socket, car charger, or solar panel. For example, the River 600 can fully charge in 50 minutes under optimal conditions, though solar panels must be purchased separately.
EcoFlow also pioneered App control functionality. By connecting to the “EcoFlow Chinese App,” users can monitor battery levels and remotely switch power, eliminating the need to stay by the unit.
Additionally, EcoFlow supports battery expansion packs, allowing up to triple capacity, which is particularly useful for high-power outdoor work, reducing energy anxiety. Expansion packs are priced at roughly half of the base unit.
2. Jackery
Jackery is one of the earliest companies in the outdoor power industry and is almost synonymous with portable power stations. In international markets, Jackery dominates Amazon, eBay, and other overseas platforms, consistently ranking first in U.S. Amazon outdoor power station sales.
Its success is closely tied to technical expertise in mobile charging. Parent company Shenzhen Huabao New Energy began mobile power development in 2010, later establishing provincial engineering centers and industry-standard labs. It helped draft national standards for portable power stations and was the first to receive certification for “Portable Lithium-ion Battery Storage Power Station Technical Standards.” Jackery’s battery cells and flame-retardant casings meet U.S. UL standards, ensuring safety and reliability.
Jackery products are named by battery capacity, with four models currently available: 300, 500, 1000, and 1100 Pro. The 500 model is the main product, with a 550Wh battery and 500W rated power, capable of running LCD screens, car refrigerators, and rice cookers—enough for overnight camping. It offers seven output ports: 1x 220V AC, 2x DC, 3x USB-A, and 1x car charger. However, it lacks Type-C ports and fast charging. The 300 and 1000 models serve as lower- and higher-capacity versions (330Wh/300W and 1002Wh/1000W, respectively).
For higher power needs, the 1100 Pro has a 1002Wh battery with 1000W rated power. Two units can provide 2,004Wh for small outdoor camps. It also includes 2x USB-C ports with 18W PD fast charge, addressing slower charging speed to some extent.
All Jackery products support wall, car, and solar charging. A 500Wh unit can fully charge in about 6 hours. Solar panels are sold separately and typically cost around US$250–450, depending on wattage (100W or 200W).
While Jackery performs well and is reliable, its fast-charging and load inversion capabilities lag behind EcoFlow. Its advantages are lighter weight and stylish design, but it struggles to compete in performance.
3. BLUETTI
Like Jackery, BLUETTI is one of the most popular portable energy brands overseas, with its Amazon sales ranking among the top five for portable power stations. Its overseas success stems from parent company Delanminghai, which has over a decade of technical expertise in energy storage. BLUETTI was the first Asian company to receive the TUV S-Mark mandatory certification in Europe, validating its safety credentials.
All BLUETTI products use lithium iron phosphate batteries, known for safety and longevity. While ternary lithium batteries are slightly less safe and durable, properly manufactured units remain reliable under normal usage conditions.
The EB70 is popular overseas—compact and easy to carry, with 1000W output capable of running rice cookers or kettles. It offers 10 output ports, including dual 100W PD, and cycles up to 2,500 times—three times that of traditional power stations. However, its 716Wh battery and 4-hour charging time are relatively limited.
The EB150 doubles capacity to 1,500Wh while maintaining 1,000W output, with an aluminum shell for improved heat dissipation. However, it weighs 16.5kg and costs around $900–$1,000., limiting portability and value.
BLUETTI also offers app control and expansion packs, similar to EcoFlow, but mostly for high-end models such as the AC200MAX (2,200W) priced near $1,700–$2,000. Multi-tier output technology is limited to low-power (<500W) models, so supply capability cannot match EcoFlow.
Compared with Jackery and EcoFlow, BLUETTI’s main strengths lie in solar charging efficiency and interactive LCD screens, especially touch-controlled ones. Unfortunately, these features are largely absent in mid- and low-end models, limiting its competitiveness.
4. Anker
